A medic suffered a leg injury after a fast response ambulance and lorry crashed in Eltham this morning.

Police were called to Westmount Road shortly after 11am, where they found an ambulance worker with a non-life-threatening injury.

Further ambulance and fire brigade staff helped remove the medic, who was treated at the scene then taken to hospital.

No one else was injured in the incident. The other driver stopped at the scene.

Road closures remain in place along Rochester Way, Westmount Road and Dumbreak Road and Granage Hill, as traffic is being diverted.

Enquires are ongoing, although no arrests have been made at this stage.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.08am today (14 July) to reports of a road traffic collision on Westmount Road, SE9, involving a lorry and one of our fast response cars.

“We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer. Our medic was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital. No one else was injured."
