The closure of a road in Epping Forest that is due to last for more than a month is set to start from Monday.

The 40-day restriction in Nursery Road, Loughton, is one of the temporary closures detailed in a notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian.

The dates of all closures, which are valid for 18 months, are subject to change and will be advised on signs at or near the relevant locations and/or on the one.network website.

Nursery Road is set to be shut from its junction with Fairmeadside to the junction with Northfield, a distance of approximately 460m, and is needed for mains replacement works.

The alternative route is via Warren Hill, High Road, Upper Park and vice versa.

Another lengthy closure due to start from Monday is in Russell Road, Buckhurst Hill.

This is also for mains replacement works and is scheduled to last for 26 days, closing the road from its junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 45m in an easterly direction.

The diversion will be via High Road, Palmerston Road, Westbury Road, Russell Road, Gladstone Road and vice versa.

Another closure due to start on Monday, this time lasting for five days, is in Sheering Lower Road, Sheering.

This restriction is needed for cable connection works and it will be in place from the junction with Sheering Road for a distance of approximately 25m in a northerly direction.

Motorists are advised to use Sheering Lower Road, Back Lane, The Street, Harlow Road, Sheering Road and vice versa while the closure is in place.

A three-day closure of Tawney Lane, Stapleford Tawney, is set to begin on Tuesday for water works.

This will apply from a point approximately 1490m north-west then north of the junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 270m in a northerly direction.

The diversion will be via Tawney Lane, London Road, Epping Lane, Mount Road, Colemans Farm Lane, Banks Lane, Epping Road, Tawney Common and vice versa.

The county council is also intending to make orders that are due to temporarily close other roads in the district from the start of next month.

A long section of Theydon Road, Epping/Theydon Bois, is scheduled to be shut to vehicles for one day on August 1.

The closure will apply from the junction with Ivy Chimneys to the junction with Little Gregories Lane, a distance of approximately 1155m, for underground and overhead cabling works.

The following day a 12-day closure is due to commence in Tawneys Road, Harlow, from the junction with Bushey Croft to the junction with Rushes Mead, a distance of approximately 110m. This is required for a new power connection.

Also on August 2, a five-day closure of Mannock Drive, Loughton, is set to begin for carriageway investigation works.

This will apply from the junction with Burney Drive to the junction with Thatchers Close, a distance of approximately 246m.
