Residents on Phipps Bridge Estate were left without internet after a car crashed into a telecom box on Friday (July 9).

The incident took place at the junction of Queens Road and Phipps Bridge Road at around 5.30pm.

A police cordon was pictured at the scene at around 6 pm.

Eyewitnesses reported that engineers from Virgin Media had to do a full refit of the box as part of their repairs.

It is believed that the Wi-Fi returned on Saturday morning.

Wimbledon Times have contacted the police for comment.
