Two people have been charged with grievous bodily harm after a teenager was stabbed in Northfleet over the weekend.

24-year-old Dilwar Hussain, 24, from Northfleet, was arrested at around 6pm on the day of the stabbing (July 4) and has since been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

A 17-year-old who could not be named for legal reasons was also charged with GBH with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The victim of the stabbing was a 17-year-old boy who was airlifted to a hospital in London after the stabbing, where his condition is described as "stable".

As News Shopper reported previously, Kent Police was called to Haynes Road at 5pm on Sunday to reports of a disturbance and found the victim suffering from a stab wound.

The county police force's investigation remains ongoing at present, and a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, both from Gravesend, were also arrested earlier today (July 6) on suspicion of affray in relation to the case.

Both of those charged in the case so far are due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court, by virtual court, tomorrow.
