Temporary street closures may lead to some disruption for drivers across Epping Forest, starting from next week.

A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the extent of the closures and other works that may be necessary while the works are carried out.

The dates when the works are due to start may vary and these will be advised on signs at the relevant locations and/or displayed on the one.network website.

The closures are due to begin in Theydon Bois on Monday when part of Poplar Row is set to be shut to vehicles for three days.

This will apply from the junction with Abridge Road to the junction with Thrifts Mead, a distance of approximately 35m.

A section of New Road, Lambourne, is due to be closed for three days from Wednesday.

The road is set to be shut from a point approximately 225m north-east of its junction with Hoe Lane for a distance of approximately 65m in a south-easterly direction.

A package of roadworks in Waltham Abbey is due to get underway after July 15.

A temporary 30mph speed limit, no waiting, no loading and no stopping restrictions will also be implemented in the lengths of road affected by the works. These are:

Forest Side – from the junction with Honey Lane to the junction with Pynest Green Lane, a distance of approximately 495m.

Pynest Green Lane – from its junction with Forest Side for a distance of approximately 120m in a south-westerly direction.

Pynest Green Lane – from the junction with Wellington Hill to the junction with Beech Hill Gardens, a distance of approximately 430m.

The county council is also intending to make orders to close other lengths of road in Epping Forest to allow works to take place from later this month.

These include that a long stretch of Upland Road, North Weald Bassett/Epping Upland, from the junction with High Road to the junction with Epping Road, a distance of approximately 2670m.

This order is scheduled to start on July 26 lasting for two days.

A five-day closure of a section of Sheering Lower Road, Sheering, is also due to commence on the same date.

This will close the road from the junction with Back Lane for a distance of approximately 220m in a north-easterly direction.
