Temporary street closures for roadworks are set to cause disruption for motorists in and around Enfield – including one set due to last more than a month.

Notices from Enfield Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent detail the extent of the closures and other restrictions that may be in place while the works are carried out.

Mapleton Road is set to be closed to traffic between its junction with Brick Lane and Broadfield Square from Monday for five days for utility works.

From the same day but for four nights, highway works are set to close Hertford Road between its junction with Unity Road and Ordnance Road northbound, and Ordnance Road westbound between Hartmoor Mews and Hertford Road.

The longest closure is due to start on July 19, preventing drivers from entering or proceeding along Tottenhall Road between its junction with Green Lanes and Fairbrook Road, and between Fairbrook Road and Melville Gardens.

Furthermore, the ‘no entry’ on Tottenhall Road will be revoked at its junction with Fairbrook Road and Melville Gardens, as and when directed by signs.

These restrictions are for utility works and are set to last for approximately 42 days, however the works will be undertaken on a phased basis.

Another phased closure for utility works is also due to start on July 19 in The Grangeway.

This will take effect between the junction with Old Park Ridings and the western flank wall of No. 28 The Grangeway, as and when directed by signs.

A programme of resurfacing works is due to start underway in Lowden Road, between its junctions with Hertford Road and St Peters Road, on July 20.

This is due to last for two days but the work will only be undertaken from 8am to 6pm.

That is also due to be the case the following day when Downes Court is set to be shut to vehicles between Hoppers Road and Broad Walk.

More resurfacing works are due to begin in Southbury Road, between its junctions with the A10 Great Cambridge Road and Baird Road.

However, these are due to take place overnight, from 9pm to 5am, and last for two nights.
