GREENFORD Quay, a new rental development overlooking the Grand Union Canal, welcomed the Mayor of Ealing, Cllr Munir Ahmed, to inaugurate its new Summer Series on Monday (28).

The programme of events includes film screenings, live shows and family entertainment, until the final week of August. They are open to everyone and free of charge, though guests need to book in advance.

The mayor said: “Greenford Quay has transformed a disused industrial site along the canal to bring a new community to Greenford. We’re looking forward to [welcoming] new residents, shops, restaurants and services over the next few years.”

A screening of Wimbledon began proceedings at the waterfront amphitheatre, to be followed by daily showings of the tennis and the Euros.

During the first weekend in August, the Greenford Quay Summer Party will take place on Grenan Square, offering family entertainment and food carts, as well as a giant games that will remain on the square for the month.

Set across 20 acres, Greenford Quay, operated by rental developer Greystar, includes a 14th-floor gym, spinning studio, cinema room, bar and games room, plus workspace, residents’ lounges and outdoor entertaining spaces with barbecues.

A day nursery was opened by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson in March.

Apartments start at £1,330 per calendar month. enquiries@greenfordquay.com
