Police have launched an investigation after a teenager was stabbed in Borehamwood this evening.

Officers believe the 18-year-old was attacked in the Torworth Road area, off Aycliffe Road, between 6.10pm and 6.30pm (June 22).

He was found with wounds to his arms and an air ambulance rushed to the scene along with paramedics.

The teen was taken to Barnet Hospital via road. Police have said tonight that he is in a stable condition.

No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing at this stage.

As part of their investigations tonight, detectives are seeking to trace a sports car.

Detective Constable David Seal, from the Borehamwood Local Crime Unit, said: "We are doing all we can to establish the circumstances of what happened, however it is currently believed to be an isolated incident.

"We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area who may have seen what happened. We believe a number of people would have been in the area at the time and may have seen something that might assist us with our enquiries.

"A dark-coloured sports car was also seen in the area around the time that may have been connected with the incident. If anyone believes they saw this or its occupants, please contact us as soon as possible."
