A dangerous collection of weapons and Class A and B drugs have been seized by police officers after a police stop in Plumstead yesterday.

Officers discovered a folding knife, baseball bat and machete hidden inside the suspect's vehicle, and arrested the 27-year-old on a number of offences.

Met Police's Violence Suppression Unit pulled over a vehicle in Gilbourne Road, SE18, at around 9pm on June 14, and proceeded to search the driver and car. 

A folding knife with a locking blade was recovered from the centre console and a baseball ball between the door and the seat.

Concealed in the door was a large snap bag containing wraps of Class A drugs and cannabis and hidden under the window controls was another large bag of cannabis and a machete.

In total, officers seized 46 snap bags of cannabis, seven wraps and £510 cash.

PC Daniel Miles who leads the investigation said:"This arrest highlights the ongoing work of officers to remove dangerous weapons and drugs from our streets. We will continue to make use of every resource available to us in order to keep our communities safe."

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon and driving offences.

He was taken in custody to a police station in south London.
