An Indian takeaway in Chingford has been given the worst possible hygiene rating.

Insu Inn in Cherrydown Avenue was rated zero out of five by Waltham Forest Council food safety inspectors following an inspection in March.

A zero rating means ‘urgent improvement is necessary’ at the restaurant.

Insu Inn was previously rated three (generally satisfactory) in 2019 and an following an inspection in 2018 was rated one (major improvement necessary).

In Walthamstow, Kelmscott Secondary School was given a one rating following an inspection on March 31.

The schools two previous inspections results in five ratings (very good) in 2018 and 2014.

When inspecting a premise, food safety officers review three criteria:

• Hygienic food handling

• Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building

• Management of food and systems to ensure food served is safe to eat
