FOUR fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a blaze at a flat on the Western Avenue, Acton, on Friday (16).
Half of a four-room flat on the second floor of was damaged and one man was taken to hospital.
Sub Officer Amanda Glover, who was at the scene, said: “There was heavy smoke in the area and two lanes were closed on the Western Avenue while crews worked swiftly to make the scene safe.”
The brigade was called at 4.49pm and the fire was under control by 5.36. Crews from Park Royal, Acton, Willesden and Chiswick attended.
The cause is being investigated.
