A woman from Cheam has gained international recognition for her photography.
Magda Bright has achieved a Silver award in the Guild of Professional Photographers Image of the Month competition, which attracts in excess of 1500 entries each month.
The Guild of Photographers is a highly respected national photographic body and its members are dedicated to enhancing their skills in the art, craft and profession of photography.
"I actually cried when I found out," said Magda.
"I have been a newborn photographer for over six years now and entering the Guild Image of the Month competition [for ] about 4 years now.
"I have been achieving consistent Bronze Awards with my images and working super hard to achieve a Silver Award. The standard of the competition means that a Silver Award in the newborn category is really hard to achieve.
"There were only 6 images that were awarded Silver in last month’s competition so for one of them to be mine is a huge honour.
"I adore my job and not being able to work most of this year has been hard so this recognition was absolutely amazing!"
Directors of the Guild, Steven and Lesley Thirsk said: “We are both delighted that Magda has achieved this award!
"The Guild has very demanding standards when judging photography competitions. In fact, the judging is undertaken by a panel of internationally recognised experts from a variety of photographic backgrounds, so it is an achievement to be, quite rightly, proud of!”
