A MAN has been charged with grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving after a cyclist was seriously injured in an alleged attack.
Officers were called to an alleged assault involving a car driver and a cyclist in Paddockhurst Road, Turners Hill, at 4.50pm on Tuesday.
The cyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered significant head injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
David Francis, 28, a mechanic, of West Hoathly Road, East Grinstead, was arrested and later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court today.
Officers investigating the matter continue to appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
