Motorists using some roads in Barnet may face disruption later this month due to roadworks.

Notices from the London Borough of Barnet in this week’s edition of the Barnet Borough Times details plans to introduce a temporary one-way system while works take place, while other roads will be affected by closures.

The temporary one-way system is due to be introduced in East Barnet Road at 8am on Saturday, April 17.

The work will only be carried out on two weekends – April 17 and 18, and April 24 and 25 – and access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times.

The one-way will be in place on East Barnet Road, between its junctions with Longmore Avenue and Cat Hill, in both directions.

The alternative route will be via East Barnet Road, Brookhill Road and Cat Hill at the times when the work is being carried out.

Meanwhile, part of Ranulf Road will be closed for an anticipated five-day period from April 19 to allow a crane to deliver block and beam at second floor level.

The alternative route for vehicles will be via Ranulf Road, Hocroft Road, Hendon Way, Cricklewood Lane, Lichfield Road, Westbere Road, Mill Lane, Fortune Green Lane, Ranulf Road and vice versa.

A section of Haslemere Gardens, between Nos. 6 and 16, is due to be shut to traffic for one day on April 20 for works.

The diversion will be via Haslemere Gardens, A406 North Circular Road, Charter Way, Kinloss Gardens, Chessington Avenue and vice versa.

Overnight inspection works are due to be carried out on the M1 slip-road flyover on the A41 Watford Way at the end of the month.

This will mean any vehicle on Watford Way will be unable to turn right onto Great North Way at the Five Ways Corner.

The works are due to take place between 10pm and 5am from April 26 to April 30.

During these times motorists will be diverted via Watford Way and then return southbound from Mill Hill Circus Roundabout.
