Developers are consulting on plans to build homes at a disused industrial site after a previous scheme was refused.
Fairview and One Housing are asking the public for feedback on the redevelopment of the Victoria Quarter, on the site of the former British Gas Works in Albert Road, New Barnet.
Councillors refused permission for 652 homes in blocks up to ten storeys high at the site during a planning committee meeting in October.
The developers are now working on revised plans and are particularly keen to hear feedback on architecture and design, green spaces and landscaping, housing mix and local infrastructure improvements.
They have set up a virtual exhibition where people can view the proposals. Details of how to take part in the consultation, which will run until Monday, are available here.
In a statement, the developers said: “Fairview and One Housing would like to thank all of those who are encouraging as many people as possible to take part in our first consultation on our emerging revised proposals for Victoria Quarter.
“This first consultation is taking place while the revised proposals are still at a formative stage, setting out the parameters within which we’re working. We’re seeking feedback and input at this conceptual stage to help us work up the scheme prior to further consultation on the detailed plans later in the year.
“This is a process that acknowledges the opposition to and refusal of the previous planning application, with our detailed proposals to be at a reduced height and density. We remain committed to finally delivering homes on this brownfield site and hope that as many people as possible express their view at this early stage.”
