AN historian is appealing to readers for information on Edmund Quickenden, who was born in Lingfield, Surrey but subsequently settled in Harefield.
He was in business as a draper and grocer (and, latterly, postmaster) and remained in the village for more than 30 years before returning to the Lingfield area.
Rosemary Bridger, of the EH7 History Group, says: “Though I have gathered quite a lot of informaton on Edmund, I have been unable to find any pictures of him and wondered whether any of your readers might be able to help.
“He appears to have been quite prominent in the community. He was related to the Winship family through his niece Elizabeth, who married a George Winship in 1868.
“I wonder whether there might still be any descendants in your area who might perhaps have a photo.”
If you can help her, she can be contacted on rosemaryabridger@btinternet.com
