Plans have been announced to alter the speed limits in and around a business park in Epping Forest.

A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s Guardian is proposing to make the changes in the vicinity of Fyfield Business Park in Ongar.

The council is proposing to make an order to introduce a 20mph zone in Elstar Road from a point approximately 75 metres south east from its junction with the B184 Ongar Road roundabout, south east for its entire length.

Furthermore, the same order is also proposing to extend the existing 50mph speed limit on B184 Ongar Road in a north easterly direction for approximately 82 metres, to a point approximately 35 metres north east from the roundabout at its junction with Elstar Road.

The council also plans to introduce a 50mph speed limit on Elstar Road from its junction with the B184 Ongar Road roundabout in a south easterly direction for approximately 75 metres.

Meanwhile, part of Hoe Lane, in Lambourne, is scheduled to be closed to traffic for one day on Sunday while pole removal works are carried out.

The temporary closure will affect that length of the road from a point approximately 325 metres north west of its junction with New Road for a distance of approximately 400 metres in a north westerly direction.

During this closure, traffic will be diverted via Hoe Lane, London Road, Abridge Road, Abridge Road roundabout, Gravel Lane, Pudding Lane, Lambourne Road, Manor Road and vice versa.

A section of Beaconfield Avenue in Epping is also set to be closed to traffic for one day next month to allow Thames Water to carry out sewer cover replacement works.

The road is due to be temporarily closed from its junction with Beaconfield Way for a distance of approximately 70 metres in a north-westerly direction on April 15.
