Two teenagers have been found guilty of the murder of the father of a baby daughter.

Kofi Abusah, 19, of Walter Walk, Edgware, and Javell Hall, 18, of Swanage Waye, Hayes, were convicted at the Old Bailey in connection with the fatal stabbing of Asante Campbell in Hendon last year.

Mr Campbell was stabbed on the evening of February 29 after four men got out of a car and surrounded Mr Campbell who was sat in his Volkswagen Polo on the Bellevue Estate.

The dad-of-one from Edgware had been waiting for a friend before going to work when he was ambushed.

He was "ferociously" stabbed in the chest through the open window before attempting to flee the scene in his car.

Mr Campbell crashed into railings, but kept going until just after 9pm when he lost consciousness and crashed into a parked car in Parson Street.

Police say residents rushed to his aid and paramedics rushed Mr Campbell to hospital, but he died from his injuries later that night.

Despite the convictions of Abusah and Hall, who will be sentenced on April 23, the Met remains on the hunt for anyone else involved.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge said: "I would like to take this opportunity to appeal for anyone who has information regarding the outstanding suspects in this investigation to come forward and speak with us. Whilst two men have been convicted, we know that others were involved. Please help us identify them.

"Asante Campbell was a hard-working man, who was devoted to his young family. Just 15 minutes prior to his murder, he had left his fiancée and baby daughter, having volunteered to work a night shift; he never returned home to them.

"His death has left his family devastated. His young daughter will grow up without him in her life. This is the tragedy that stems from knife crime.

"The defendants, by contrast, left the scene of the murder and drove to a club to continue their night as if nothing had happened. They have been unwilling to explain why they were involved in such a ferocious and unprovoked attack on a man who had been sitting peacefully in his car.

"They chose to plead not guilty despite the overwhelming evidence that pointed to their involvement. They have now been convicted and can expect a lengthy prison sentence.
