A band of Clapham creatives are donating their art to charity to raise money in memory of Sarah Everard.

Sixty artists are participating in the online auction which closes on Wednesday, March 24.

They are offering artwork, to undertake a commission, or to host an art experience for the highest bidder.

All proceeds will go to women’s rights charity Reclaim These Streets or a similar cause of the artist’s choice.

The art initiative was launched in response to a vigil that was cancelled on Clapham Common on March 14, to commemorate the death of 33-year-old Sarah Everard.

Battersea artist, Louise Gillard, came up with the idea, to offer an alternative way of supporting Reclaim These Streets.

Ms Gillard paints on Clapham Common every week, so said the cause was "close to home."

She added: “I paint alone on Clapham Common most weeks along the route Sarah Everard took on 3 March. It has never occurred to me that I shouldn’t paint alone. Sarah should have been safe walking alone that evening.”

The auction closes at 9.30 pm on March 24, which marks three weeks since Sarah Everard was taken.
