An 18-year-old suspected of distributing terrorist publications was arrested at an address in South East London this morning (Thursday, February 24).
Scotland Yard said he remains at a South London police station, and was officially detained under numerous pieces of legislation aimed at curbing terrorism in the UK.
Searches of the address are ongoing as police continue their investigation into the teenager.
"The man was arrested on suspicion of dissemination of terrorist publications, contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
"The arrest was made under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE)," a police statement read.

The police said last year that the fastest-growing terror threat in the UK comes from far-right extremism.
The Met's Assistant Commander Neil Basu said last year that the force had foiled a significant number of far-right plots to commit terrorism on UK soil since 2017.
