LONDON’S innovators are being urged to drive the city’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Mayor’s £1m Resilience Fund will support businesses in tech and other sectors to respond to recovery challenges – and is now open to applications.
Ealing Council is among the partners with whom he will work closely on challenges such as diverting surplus food to those most in need, supporting high streets and making workspaces more flexible and affordable.
Sadiq Khan, said: “I know our city is home to a wealth of innovation – so I have no doubt many of the solutions will come from right here in the capital.”
Cllr Kamaljit Dhindsa, Ealing’s cabinet member for business and community services, looks forward to rebuilding thriving high streets, using new forms of data on vacant shop units.
He said: “This will enable our High Streets Taskforce [on] opportunities for increased levels of meanwhile-use and activation.”
