EIGHT engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a house blaze on the Western Avenue at Acton this morning (17).
The roof of a mid-terrace house was destroyed and most of the first floor and half of the ground floor damaged by fire.
Part of the loft conversion of an adjacent home was also damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.
Station Commander Lucy Macleod-Cook, who was at the scene, said the A40 was closed going into London from Hanger Lane.
Neighbours were advised to close their windows and doors due to smoke.
The brigade was called at 8.05 and the fire was under control shortly before 10am. Fire crews from Park Royal, Wembley, Acton and surrounding fire stations attended.
The cause is under investigation.
