Greenwich has been transformed into the site of an alien invasion after a new high-budget Apple TV series has set up filming in south east London.
Greenwich Park, Blackheath and the entire area around the Royal Naval College have all been decked out with props and film crews, with the former even pumped full of eerie smoke for some type of scary night scene.
The filming is part of a new TV series for Apple TV titled 'Invasion', although the sci-fi show has been kept completely under wraps.
But the show has been filming in locations across the world, including New York, Jordan and Japan, implying a big budget production.
Greenwich is now reportedly one of the last filming locations, and the large film crew have brought along hundreds of props including telephone boxes, post boxes, bollards, a bus stop and burnt up containers.
Photos of the filming show scaffolding, a London bus, debris lining the streets and a completely smashed up car.
It is understood that the show features an alien invasion, hence a fog-filled Greenwich Park.
The show, code-named Ray James on IMDb, says it is a "TV Series inspired by HG Wells' 'War of the Worlds'," where aliens invade Earth to mine for resources and food.
It will be Apple's largest budget sci-fi series from Simon Kinberg and David Weil.
Production was reportedly started in October 2019 but had to abruptly paused when the coronavirus pandemic began in March 2020, leaving just rumours of what the show is about and a delayed release date.
When released, there will be ten episodes, with the full cast released on IMDb, but very little other information available.
