A VOLUNTEER from Uxbridge was among 27 extraordinary people from across the UK to be recognised with a British Citizen Award.
Sarah Gardner received her medal by courier, together with an invitation to the House of Lords when it is safe to do so as the awards were held virtually.
The award, in association with One-Stop, is now in its sixth year and recognises exceptional people who positively impact their communities.
Sarah’s current voluntary roles include, as an officer for the Army Cadet Force for more than 16 years, school governor and food bank trustee.
She is also the president-elect and community officer for the Rotary Club of Elthorne-Hillingdon and is a dementia champion.
In addition, she is on the committee of Click Rukiga (a charity that is part of St Giles Church, Ickenham) and volunteers with Hillingdon 4 ALL.
