A football fan from India has taken out an advert in the Enfield Independent to thank Jose Mourinho after he won £5,000 when Tottenham lost to Brighton.

Sahil Arora, 29, a Manchester United supporter from New Delhi, won £5,000 playing free-to-play fantasy football jackpot game Fantasy5 at the weekend.

It was Leandro Trossard’s second goal of the season for Brighton that clinched the prize.

To ensure that Mourinho was made aware, the cheeky Red Devils fan contacted the Enfield Independent – the local newspaper for Tottenham’s training ground – to take out a full page ad thanking the Special One.

The advertisement, featuring a message of thanks, includes a cut out and keep trophy - presumably intended for Tottenham’s trophy cabinet, which has gathered dust in recent years.

Sahil, who owns his own clothes business in New Delhi, said: “Even though he’s only scored once so far this season, I was telling Trossard and his Brighton teammates ‘lads, it’s only Tottenham’ and was confident that they would do the business against Mourinho’s men.

“Thanks to Spurs for being, well, Spursy, I’ve won £5,000 playing Fantasy5 so I wanted to show my appreciation.

"I’m sure Jose and co will pick up a copy of the Enfield Independent after training and when they do, there’s a trophy in there to say thanks.

"Hopefully it makes it into their empty trophy cabinet!”

A tweet from Sahil with a photo of the advert has since gone viral, receiving more than 2,000 likes on Twitter.

One person replied: "Meh, we've won a trophy at last. COYS."

Another said: "If this is real. It’s a masterpiece. And I have nothing against Spurs!"

A third wrote: "Knowing Jose. He’ll win the treble out of spite. Thanks for kickstarting our season."

Sahil, who split the £10k jackpot with another Fantasy5 entrant on Sunday night becomes the joint second winner of the newly-launched game in two weeks.

Fantasy5 has now paid out £20,000 to three competition winners who were successful with their free entries.

Fantasy5 co-founder Jacob Kalms said: “I’m a lifelong Spurs fan, but have to hand it to Sahil for coming up with a novel way to thank Mourinho and the Tottenham players for their key role in making him £5,000 richer.

"We’re delighted for Sahil along with every other Fantasy5 winner.”

Jose Mourinho’s men remain six points adrift of the Champions League places on the back of an alarming two league wins from nine matches.
