Two men have been arrested and issued with Covid-19 fines after a police drug seizure on the Greenwich.

Woolwich Riverside and MPS Peninsula's Met Police teams were leading patrols in SE10 area on Monday, February 1, when two men were identified.

The pair, both from north west London, were stopped on Christchurch Way, and were found with illegal drugs.

The drugs were seized, and both were "deal with appropriately for the drug possession," Woolwich Riverside Police said.

Both men were also issued with fines for breaching the Covid-19 lockdown regulations.

Later in the same shift, the same patrols said they were out in the early hours issued a number of Covid-19 fines after some people decided to congregate into drinking groups.

Elsewhere, in Thamesmead, SE28, a man was arrested on February 2 for possession of a bladed article and drug offences.

He tried to flee from his address when the Met's Violence Suppression Unit showed up, but officers were waiting for him and managed to make the arrest.
