A TREE that fell across the road and on to a car in Catlins Lane, Eastcote, last Friday was removed by firefighters.

One man was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew after suffering from shock.

Sub Officer Chris Secrett said: “We were called after a tree had fallen into the road, taking down a telephone wire. One of the branches went through the windscreen of a car.

“Thankfully, the man inside was not seriously hurt. The road was closed while crews worked with a tree surgeon to remove it and make sure the scene was safe.”

The brigade was called at 4.04pm and the incident was over for firefighters by 5.15. One fire engine from Harrow attended.
