Sutton Community Awards is set to take place virtually this week.
The awards will celebrate heroes in the community, that have made an 'exceptional contribution' to making the borough a better place to live, work and raise a family.
For the second year running, the awards is being delivered in partnership between Community Action Sutton, Sutton Housing Partnership, Volunteer Centre Sutton, and Sutton Council.
The judging panel includes representatives from across the community including local business, organisations, charities and residents associations.
Almost 300 entries have been received across eight award categories, the categories are as follows:
-Outstanding Community Champion
-The Terence Cort Award
-The Herb Chinzou Award
-Outstanding Volunteer
-Outstanding Volunteering Group
-Outstanding Young Person
-Outstanding Voluntary and Community Sector Organisation of the Year
-Sue Robson Trustee of the Year
The awards ceremony will take place virtually via the Council’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, February 3.
