Traffic is set to be prevented from using part of the A41 at night during March because of roadworks.

A notice from Transport in London in this week’s Barnet Borough Times outlines proposals to stop vehicles from using entering, exiting or proceeding on Hendon Way at its junction with the Vale.

The order is set to come into force each night from 9pm on March 1 until 5am on March 31 or until the works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

This is to allow resurfacing and speed camera installation works to take place on Hendon Way.

Traffic will be diverted via The Vale, Greenfield Gardens, Cricklewood Lane and Hendon Way when the restrictions are in place.

Meanwhile, construction and roadworks are set to cause disruption to several roads in the Barnet area from tomorrow.

Hyde Estate Road will be closed from 8am on Thursday for a period of 62 days due to demolition and redevelopment work at the main exit to the Sainsbury’s supermarket site.

This will mean traffic exiting the store will have to use the access road between the supermarket car park and Sainsbury’s fuel station and Hyde Estate Road.

The Bishop’s Avenue junction with White Lodge Close will also be temporarily closed from 8am tomorrow, although this is only due to last for two days while a tower crane is dismantled.

The diversion will be via Aylmer Road, Archway Road, Bakers Lane, North Hill, Hampstead Lane and vice versa.

Alternatively, traffic should use Hampstead Lane, Spaniards Road, North End Way, North End Road, Falloden Way and Lyttleton Road.
