Numerous roads throughout Epping Forest are set to be affected by temporary 30mph speed limits imposed at various stages throughout the next 18 months to allow for roadworks.

A notice posted by Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian states that no waiting, loading or stopping restrictions will be introduced alongside the temporary speed limits in the lengths of the roads affected.

The order allowing this came into effect last week and will last for 18 months or until the work is completed, whichever is sooner.

The roads due to be affected are Longfield and Brooklyn Avenue in Loughton, and Great Meadow/Keysers Road, Maplecroft Lane/Banes Down and Western Road/Shooters Drive/ Palmers Green and Palmers Grove in Nazeing.

Works are also to be carried out in Oak Rise, Gladstone Road and Buckhurst Way/Albert Road in Buckhurst Hill, Murtwell Drive, Orchard Way, Lee Grove, Turpins Lane and Fontayne Avenue in Chigwell and Broadoaks in Epping.

A number of areas in Waltham Abbey are also due to be affected including Roundhills/Downlands/Holecroft/Pinnacles, Buxton Road, Beechfield Walk, Harold Crescent, Valley Close and Fullers Close.

Furthermore, the order applies to the B184 Dunmow Road in Fyfield and the A128 Brentwood Road in Ongar.

The parts of each road affected, together with any relevant diversions, can be seen by turning to the notices at the back of this newspaper. The notice states the exact dates the work will be carried out in each road(s) will be posted on one.network.

Other roads in Epping Forest will be affected due to works by Affinity Water next month.

Part of Church Lane, in Sheering, is due to close for three days from Monday, while a length of Sheering Lower Road is set to be shut from February 9 for four days.

The water company is also due to be carrying out work in Epping Lane, Theydon Mount, from January 28 for seven days, while work is due to take place in part of Tawney Common, Stapleford Tawney, for five days from Monday.

Meanwhile, part of Higher Laver Road will be shut on January 26 to allow BT to safely erect telegraph poles.
