Six people have been arrested after a week-long joint police operation Woolwich Arsenal DLR.

Offences included possession of blades and possession with intent to supply, including one male found with "a sizeable amount of drugs."

Police officers from MPS Bexley, MPS Welling and Southeastern Railway joined the British Transport Police's Proactive Metro Team at Woolwich DLR across last week.

The clampdown on criminal activity on the transport network, known as Operation Avara, saw a total of six people arrested.

BTP London said arrests included the possession of points/blades, and possession with intent to supply drugs, and Welling Police added that a sizeable amount of drugs was found on one male.

Operation Avara has seen officers deployed multiple times across the last 12 months, targeting busy commuter stations across south east London and Dartford.

Covert officers, stop and searches, knife arches and police dogs have all featured, with each operation making multiple arrests and seizures.

BTP London also added on a warning to people to "only travel if it's essential."
