Dated around 1910, the photo above from Loughton shows the old post office site on the left dating back to 1840.
It moved to a new site in Forest Road around 1908.
By 1931 the post office was in the High Road in the building now known as a pub called The Last Post.
Thankfully this building still survives as a reminder of Loughton’s past.
