The picture above is of a snowy winter scene in Loughton High Street around 1924 looking towards Old Station Road.
The Victorian architecture of the Crown Pub can be seen in the background long before its demolition in 1963.
As can be seen, much has been swept away except for the precious green space in the foreground that adjoins High Beech Road on the right.
