Four fire engines attended the scene, from Mill Hill, Hendon, and Stanmore.
The fire brigade says half of a rear extension of a detached house was damaged, while plastic roofing on an extension to a neighbouring property was also damaged.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Firefighters were able to bring the flames under control by 4.43pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
