THE hunt continues for a suspected murderer who is still at large almost 20 hours after a man was stabbed to death.

Officers were called to Russell Way in Three Bridges, Crawley, at 9pm yesterday and found a severely injured 24-year-old man.

Paramedics and the air ambulance rushed to the street, but he could not be saved and died at the scene.

Sussex Police launched a manhunt for the suspect this morning, saying they are known to the victim.

The Argus:

But, as of 3.30pm, the suspect remained at large.

A force spokesman said: "Police are continuing to search for a suspect following the death of a 24-year-old man in a stabbing incident in Crawley yesterday evening.

"Detectives are confident that the incident is confined to the two people, who were known to each other and are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with it.

The Argus:

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about it is asked to report online or call 101 quoting Operation Parkhead."

As the murder investigation progressed, another body was found in the woods near Marion Road, Crawley, about a mile from Russell Way where the 24-year-old man had died the night before.

However, this is not being linked to the murder investigation, Sussex Police say.

The Argus:

The body was discovered at at about 10.45 this morning.

Sussex Police say the death is being treated as unexplained and officers are making enquiries into the cause.
