MANY restaurants in and around Wimbledon Town Centre are offering free school meals during October half term.
The announcement comes after a campaign to extend free school meals during the holidays, was defeated by 322 votes to 261 last Wednesday.
The campaign, led by footballer Marcus Rashford, has been highly applauded with restaurants and volunteers offering to step up to the plate.
We have made a list of restaurants within and around Wimbledon Town Centre which are offering hot meals over the half term.
Below are the restaurants that have been alerted to us and documented on the #helpoutwhenschoolsout website:
- Leon- 5 Wimbledon Hill Rd, SW19 7NF
This week, Leon are offering free breakfast and lunches from their Little LEON menu for any children who would normally get free meals at school.
There are two breakfast options and three lunch options which also include vegetarian.
The offer ends on October 30, for more information contact 020 8947 3550.

Children are being offered porridge for breakfast and a falafel, veggie rice bowl for lunch.
Lu-Ma Cafe asks that you call ahead, if possible, for more information call 020 82966714.
Papa John's Pizza- 164, Wimbledon, Broadway SW19 1RX
Papa John's Pizza are offering kids aged between 6-15 years old, a free personalised pizza (available between 2-4pm) this half-term.
Information on whether or not to call in advance has not been issued - if you would like to contact them first, you can call them on 020 8417 0000.

Pho are giving out 50 meals a day (veggie fried rice and a piece of fresh fruit).
Anyone who would like a meal will be directed at the front of the restaurant.

Coffee in the Wood are offering free school lunches until October 30.

Adults and children are being offered a sandwich, pack of crisp and a extra item, up until November 6.

The restaurant are offering free kids lunches available from Friday to Sunday during October Half term.
Children can expect focaccia bread stuffed with ham and cheese, fruit juice or coke and a pack of sugared almonds.
