PEOPLE are being warned not to approach a criminal who has absconded from prison.

Dominic Van Allen has been missing from Ford Prison near Arundel for almost two weeks.

Anyone who sees him is being urged to call 999 immediately.

The 47-year-old was just one year into a five-year jail sentence for unlawful possession of a firearm.

This was issued at Blackfriars Crown Court on August 16, 2019.

But he went missing from prison at about 11.30am on October 15.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Anyone who sees him is advised not to approach him, but to dial 999 immediately, quoting Sussex serial 983 of 15/10.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or report it to them online.”

Van Allen is 5ft 10in tall and of medium build, with brown eyes and ginger, cropped hair.

He is known to have links to West London and North London, and Sussex officers say colleagues in the Metropolitan Police are making enquiries in an attempt to track him down.

Van Allen is the second convict to go missing from Ford Prison this month.

Jay Davis went missing from the site on Monday, October 12.

The 33-year-old was serving a sentence for possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He was arrested by armed police at a campsite in Telscombe on Saturday.
