POLICE seized a "large Rambo" knife after a stop and search in Tooting on Tuesday (October 27).
Officers from the Violent Crime Taskforce were on a proactive patrol on Trinity Road when they saw a man riding an electric scooter on the pavement at around 12.40 pm.
The officers stopped the 19-year-old man and carried out a search, and found the knife concealed in his trousers.
It was seized and the man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon. He currently remains in police custody.
Sergeant Leon Coltress of the VCTF said: “The weapon seized today could have caused serious harm if we hadn’t conducted this stop and search, proving just how valuable this tactic is.
“Tackling violence is our top priority and we will continue to target those who carry weapons and commit offenses.”
