Three local teenagers have been charged by police over an attempted lockdown burglary in Sidcup.
The three suspects attempted to break into a property in Bexley during lockdown, but fled when the occupier sounded the house alarm. Four months on, police have charged who they believe is responsible.
On June 3, Sidcup Metropolitan Police Service reported an attempted lockdown burglary on Bexley Lane, towards Rectory Lane near Foots Cray Meadows in Sidcup.
They said that at around 1am, three masked males attempted to break into a house by forcing open the garage attached to the property.
The suspects, who were caught on CCTV, then fled the area after the house's occupant sounded the house alarm.
Sidcup Police assured residents that PSCOs would visit local addresses to speak about the incident, and warned that this type of incident should be reported as a 'crime in progress' straight away using 999.
Four months on, police say they have charged all three suspects.
William Keene, 18, from Glastonbury Close in Orpington, is among those charged with attempted burglary. The other two suspects are a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old male.
They will appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on December 9, 2020.
