A man has been arrested after a car smashed into a shop front in a dramatic crash.
The vehicle crashed into One Stop, Hullbridge Road, South Woodham Ferrers last night.
Images from the scene showed the car in the shop front and shop bosses took to Facebook to say the shop is shut as the building is unsafe.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision in South Woodham Ferrers just after 11.15pm on Sunday 18 October. It was reported that a BMW had left the road and driven into the One Stop on Hullbridge Road.
"A 27-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink and drugs. He remains in custody for questioning."
One Stop has been contacted for comment.
