A partnership has brought information about careers in health or social care under one roof.
The Hertfordshire and west Essex Health and Care Academy was set up to develop the local health and care workforce by attracting new talent and supporting existing staff in their careers.
The academy’s website has resources from information about varied career opportunities, apprenticeships and work experience to job vacancies, wellbeing support and advice on developing skills.
As well as digital resources and campaigns, the academy works with schools, colleges and universities to help students explore careers in health or care.
Ogechi Emeadi, director of people, organisational development and communications at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust and spokesperson for the academy, said: “There are more than 350 different careers in health and care and a wide range of organisations delivering services across the local area, so there is a lot to think about when considering your career options. That is why we’ve brought all the information together to make it easier for people to find the information and inspiration they need.
“We want to develop a workforce that delivers the best possible care for our community, from young people starting out and those considering a career change to the ongoing development of our existing staff. The Academy is a growing hub of information and support for health and care careers.”
