THE first phase of the regenerated Havelock estate in Southall is now complete.
The development, by Catalyst in partnership with Ealing Council, involved the building of 291 new homes, with more than 55% available for social rent and shared ownership.
As well as the new homes, there is a children’s play park and improved canal-side path.
Cllr Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said the work was part of the council’s £1.2billion regeneration programme of nine estates across the borough.
Ealing and Catalyst are currently reviewing the remaining phases estate in response to changes in the housing market, construction costs and regional and national planning policy.
Catalyst also recently completed its Toplocks scheme, a social rent scheme adjacent to the first phase of Havelock on an abandoned depot site. The 26-home community was handed over in March.
