A Nazeing business which has produced a Covid-19 home self-test have won a regional award.
Biosure, based at Hillgrove Business Park, has been announced as a winner in the regional stage of the Barclays’ Entrepreneur Awards.
The company, manufacturers of the first CE marked HIV Self-Test for personal use, has received the accolade in the Social category which seeks to recognise entrepreneurs whose companies have delivered transformative social or environmental change.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, BioSure have pivoted their technology and now have a range of home coronavirus test kits.
Brigette Bard, founder and CEO, said: “We have always felt privileged to work in a sector where we have such tangible social impact. Since launching the world’s first approved blood-based HIV self-test, we have worked with governments, communities and individuals across the world, generating conversations, giving people a choice of being able to test themselves and know their status on their own terms and just as importantly, giving people the confidence to make informed choices that can keep them HIV-free. We are also incredibly proud to be launching our BioSURE Covid-19 Antibody Self Test which is currently going through regulatory market approvals in the UK and multiple other countries.”
