Get your wellies out, St Clare Hospice's annual Muddy Mayhem has been confirmed to go ahead in October.

Thee charity mud run will be at Brentwood’s renowned Nuclear Races venue on Sunday, October 18.

The much-loved 5 kilometre mud run and boasts 40 obstacles including a Zip Wire.

The Hastingwood hospice, which provides specialist palliative care to people living with life-limiting illnesses, is hoping to raise more than £3,000 from the event after.

Emma Broadbent, from St Clare’s events team, said: “We’re excited that this hugely fun and exciting event is able to go ahead this autumn, and we can’t wait to see this year’s participants get stuck in! We have been working closely with Nuclear Races to organise the event and there has been a thorough Covid-19 risk assessment and we are taking all the necessary precautions to make sure the event can go ahead safely this October.”

“Taking part in a mud-run is so exhilarating, and is definitely an experience I’d encourage everyone to do – especially when you know you’re raising vital funding for your local hospice. We hope that we can raise £3,000 from Muddy Mayhem this year, which will help us to continue offering and developing our care for local people who need us. Your support is needed this year, more than ever, as we seek overcome the impact that coronavirus has had on our fundraising income.”

Those interested in channelling their inner mud-lover in aid of St Clare this October can register via the hospice’s website, either individually or as part of a team.

Spaces are limited to 30 participants to ensure government guidelines in regards to social distancing are adhered to.
