A PANEL of experts will decide whether a Wiltshire Police officer breached professional standards.

PC Andrew Ross faces two allegations, which have not been detailed by the county force, which if proven could be breaches of the standards of professional behaviour all officers must uphold.

The standards he is accused of breaching are: honesty and integrity; authority, respect and courtesy; orders and instructions; duties and responsibilities; and discreditable conduct.

The panel hearing the misconduct case will listen to the facts alleged before making a determination.

If the panel decides allegations are proved and represent gross misconduct, punishment can range from a written warning to the officer being sacked without notice.

The hearing will take place at Wiltshire Police’s headquarters in Devizes.

Such misconduct hearings are a relative rarity in the county.
