A 30-YEAR-OLD man died after being found lying in the middle of a country road late at night.

Police have made three arrests over causing death by dangerous driving in relation to the incident in Loxwood Road, near Rudgwick, shortly before 11.30pm.

Officers and ambulance crews were called to the road after the discovery of the man late last night and, despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sussex Police seized a car nearby and detained three men aged 25, 41 and 48 on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They remain in custody and are being interviewed as officers make further enquiries into the incident.

Detective Inspector Sue Neilson of the Surrey and Sussex Police Serious Collision Investigations Unit said; “This investigation is still in its early stages and we are working to establish exactly what happened.
