A man has been fished out of the River Quaggy in Lewisham by emergency services after he'd reportedly fled the nearby police station and assaulted an officer.
Emergency services were called to Lewisham High Street around 11:25am on Thursday, August 6 after reports of a man in the River Quaggy.
Met Police, Ambulance Services and the London Fire Brigade all attended, and firefighters had to use a stretcher to rescue him from the River.
He was rushed to hospital with leg injuries, and his condition is unknown.
Met Police say the man had been in Lewisham Police Station before the incident.
He had assaulted a police officer before leaving, and officers followed him before he ended up in the river.
The man is currently in hospital where we await a condition, and has also been arrested for assaulting an officer.
