A WOMAN was followed for several minutes by a man as she left a shop late at night.
The woman had left a store in Portland Road Hove at 10pm on July 29.
As she tried to get home, a man matched her pace and followed her, leaving her feel shaken.
Police say it was a terrifying ordeal.
The force said a 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stalking involving fear of violence and was bailed with conditions.
Meanwhile the investigation continues, and police want any witnesses to come forward.
PC Kirsty Stevenson said: “This must have been a terrifying ordeal and we are grateful to the victim for coming forward and reporting this matter to us. Our advice to anyone who suspects they are being followed is to dial 999 immediately.”
