Police are appealing to trace a good Samaritan who spoke to an injured woman in the vicinity of the fields between Moorcock Close and Holmefields Road in Bankfields in the early hours of Tuesday (August 4).

The good Samaritan, who is described as an elderly woman who was walking a dog, helped the woman to her feet between 3am and 4am on Tuesday.

Officers would like to ask the dog walker to come forward and speak to them as part of their enquiries into the circumstances of how the woman came to be injured.

The woman had suffered a head injury and did not seek medical treatment.

The dog walker herself, or anyone else with information, is asked to call Detective Constable Cat McKenzie from Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 126816.
