A police helicopter was spotted circling over Wood Green earlier this week for more than half an hour.

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter was first spotted by residents at about 11am on Wednesday, July 22.

The chopper was in the sky circling for over half an hour but it is unclear whether it was in transit or responding to a situation.

The Metropolitan Police say no major incidents where recorded in the area at the time making it likely it was awaiting a landing spot or an assignment.

Helicopers from the NPAS for London and South East are based at North Weald, and on a direct track to central London would overfly the Noel Park and Wood Green areas.
